The Matecaña International Airport continues to grow in infrastructure, road connections with neighboring departments, and passenger mobilization, making it a key factor in the economic recovery and strategic development of the coffee region. In the last month, over 240 thousand passengers were mobilized through the airport terminal, resulting in a total figure of 1.824 million people so far in 2022, thus exceeding expectations.
For the city government, it is crucial to invest in connectivity growth to and from the airport by providing more frequencies, destinations, and better experiences. For this reason, hand in hand with the operator JCA REPS, they are opening the doors of the VIP lounge named Quimbaya Longue, paying tribute to our ancestral culture of the coffee axis.
This independent lounge features coworking areas, meeting rooms, elevator rest areas, bar, buffet, high-speed wifi connectivity, and state-of-the-art televisions. To access the lounge, travelers must be enrolled in the Priority Pass frequent traveler program and possess Mastercard Black cards, and soon, be members of the Pereira Chamber of Commerce. It is also worth noting that passengers who do not have these programs can access the lounge by paying their entrance fee.
